Why Do You Think You Deserve That?

If you read the title of this article and your mind instantly went to something you are currently dealing with… focus on that for the remainder of this read. We often deal with situations in our lives that are less than ideal. Sometimes the decision to do so is an unconscious one. Truthfully, a lot of the times ithe decision unconscious. There is a lot of buzz on the internet currently about self worth and self love. In order to actualize both of these concepts, we have to ask ourselves, why do we think we deserve any situation that is not in alignment with our worth. And once we focus on something particular that is not in alignment with our desired vision of what life should be like, it opens the mind up to all of the many ways that we are not in alignment with who we say we want to be. Confronting the fact that you are not satisfied with your current reality can be difficult, but the silver lining in this is that once you see it, you also have the power to shift things for the better. So this leads me back to my first question.

Why do you think you deserve that?

The “that” in the question above can be many things. Why do you think you deserve a job you hate? Why do you think you deserve a partner that treats you poorly? Why do you think you deserve to eat food that does not nourish you? Why do you think you deserve a dirty house? Ect ect ect…

The questions will lead back to the same answer. There is most likely a disconnect between what you think your worth is, and if you actually believe it. Again, this can be harsh reality to face. But acknowledgement is the first step to living better. The second step, is to sit with the fact that you’ve allowed this aspect of your reality to persist and that allowance has contributed to your current state of being. The third step, is to act. Forgive yourself for selling yourself short. Take one small step toward creating a better reality, and know within your heart and mind that you have the power to change your life for the better.

I trust that you will take this short read into account, and know that you did not come across this blog by accident. Today is a perfect day to reject what no longer serves you, and to call a better reality into your life.

Affirm to yourself: I accept myself as I am. I am exactly where I am supposed to be, and I give myself permission to grow.

With much love,

- Alexis
